Hi, I’m Araceli. I’m a proud mama of two beautiful girls, fur mama to a super kid-friendly, cute old man shih tzu, and the heart behind Portraits by Araceli, a full-service photography studio based in McAllen, Texas.

My love for photography started when I was a little girl. I was always the “let’s take a picture” friend. During the last week of school, I’d bring a disposable camera to capture class parties, field days, and all the joyful moments with my friends. I’d save up to develop the film and pass out prints, and I’ll never forget the look on their faces when they saw themselves in those photos. That’s when I realized how powerful a photograph can be. That feeling has never left me.

Now with over 15 years of photography experience, I’ve truly done it all. I’ve photographed newborns in the hospital, shot products for national brands, and most importantly, captured the meaningful milestones of families here in the Rio Grande Valley. Every one of those experiences has helped shape me into a photographer you can trust with any and all of your memories.
