THE IMPORTANCE OF CAKE SMASH PHOTOS

A cake smash session is a fun and memorable way to celebrate your baby’s first birthday milestone. It’s all about capturing the joy, curiosity, and messy moments as your little one explores their birthday cake. These playful, candid photos not only mark a special chapter of growth but also create cherished memories you’ll look back on for years to come.

Do you provide the OUTFITS FOR BABY?

Yes! I have a client closet with baby outfits available for you to borrow — you can view the options [here].

Please note: You will need to bring the outfit your baby will wear for the cake smash portion of the session.

Do i NEED TO BRING THE CAKE?

Yes — the cake is not provided. I recommend bringing a small, personal-sized cake (around 6–8 inches) with vanilla cake and vanilla icing. Please avoid chocolate or red icing, as they can be messy and stain. Choose a cake that coordinates well with your baby’s outfit and your chosen backdrop for a cohesive look.

Pro Tip: A few days before your session, try giving your baby a cupcake to practice! Encourage them to touch, taste, and get a little messy — this helps you get a sense of how they'll react on the day of the shoot.

wHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE?

The ideal time to book your session is when your baby is around 11 months old and not yet walking. Once babies start walking, they tend to wander off set, making the session a bit more challenging. Please keep in mind that there is a two-week turnaround time for images. If you need your photos ready by a specific birthday or party date, be sure to schedule well in advance to ensure timely delivery.
